Just For Today...

  

I had one of those days today where I didn't want to go to school. All I wanted to do is stay home, bake cookies, clean my house and do the laundry. Now, many people may think that sounds like crazy talk. Wanting to do chores around the house? I have been loving the weekends when our family doesn't have anything going on. Now that doesn't happen very often either. There always seems to be a sport to run a kid to, or girl or boy scout activities or birthday parties or whatever... Staying home for us is NOT the norm.

I sat in my car this morning thinking about all the duties of the day and listening to the comedian on the radio. As I laughed I started to think about the kids that I would see today and how I needed to be on my game. I thought, just for today I will try to make a student smile, no maybe I will make them laugh. I know laughing and listening to a good comedian on my way to work certainly puts me in a good mood. I will find that one kid that needs someone to show them a little extra care. I will compliment them on their outfit and notice how hard they are working today. Just for today I will make a difference because I can.

The BEST Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese EVER!

This is the BEST macaroni and cheese I have ever tasted. I made a batch of this to take skiing this weekend for a crock pot dinner gathering. It was full when we got there and totally empty when we left.  This is a kid friendly recipe that is so yummy. I made this Macaroni and Cheese the day before we had the dinner. The evening of the dinner, I plugged it in about 2 1/2 hours before we were going to eat. It worked out perfect! Hot, cheesy and delicious!!

Ya know, there are so many things that I take for granted everyday as I am sure many of you do as well. Sometimes you just need to stop and show how grateful you are. Go out of your way to thank someone who always seems to pick up the slack or keep everything running smoothly. Treat someone who always does little things to make your life easier. I'm not talking about spending a ton of money either. A cup of someones favorite coffee, a piece of chocolate or even a little note that just says THANKS, means a lot.
Just remember to pick one person in your life who you are truly grateful for and thank them.

Fruity Pebble Treats

1/4 c. butter
1 pkg. regular marshmallows
5 c. Fruity Pebbles

Melt butter in a 3-quart saucepan. Add marshmallows, cook until melted. stirring constantly until mixture is syrupy. Remove from heat. Add cereal. Stir until well coated. Spread warm mixture into buttered 9x13 inch pan. Press firmly into even layer using wax paper. Cool and cut into squares.
